Web merchants are already advertising AMD's new desktop processor, also known by the code name "Palomino", for sale on the Internet. Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz - ohrozí tyto procesory v novém kabátě P4?!?
Intel pravděpodobně reaguje na pondělní uvedení konkurenčního procesoru AMD Duron 1.1 GHz. Patice sice zůstává stejná s předchozí řadou procesorů Celeron (s FSB 100 MHz), ale změny hledejme spíše uvnitř!

Pokud se objeví nová čipová sada nebo jiná zajímavá technologie související s počítačovými základními deskami, můžete vzít jed na to, že mezi prvními, kteří přijdou s konkrétním výrobkem, bude i firma ASUStek. Proto se nelze divit, že v době, kdy ostatní připravují své základní desky pro Pentia 4 s podporou pamětí SDRAM, přichází ASUStek s již hotovým výrobkem - s deskou P4B. A aby těch novinek nebylo málo, na palubě je "socket budoucnosti" 478, jež je určen pro Pentia 4 v pouzdře mikroPGA. Testovacím "motorem" byl právě jeden takový exemplář Pentia 4 taktovaný na... 2GHz!
