Building on the KT266 chipset that hasn't been the success that VIA would have liked, they now offer the KT266A to the masses as an AMD DDR solution. It's this chipset that MSI have chosen to use in the K7T266 Pro2 and what lets them tag the 2 onto the end.

Motherboard makers facing difficulty in choosing chipsets
Motherboard makers are facing a bit of difficulty in planning their product lines lately, as at least six new chipsets will enter volume production or start large-scale deliveries in November. The high inventory level of Socket 423 Pentium 4 processors also remains a crucial market factor. In the Intel platform, besides the current 845 and 850 chipsets, Intel will begin small-scale deliveries of its DDR SDRAM-supporting 845D chipsets in November and is expected to start shipments to distributors in December. All major motherboard companies have products based on the chipset.
