SiS reports good yield rates and high profits for 3Q
With the yield rate of its 8-inch fab rising to 60-70% in the third quarter, Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) reported on October 29 that its gross margin climbed from 26.5% in the second quarter to 31.6% in the third, the best the company has seen since the fourth quarter of 1999.

Intel dodává chipset 845 s podporou DDR
Podle DigiTimes.com se Intel konečně rozhoupal a oficiálně informoval taiwanské výrobce základních desek, že v příštím měsíci začne dodávat chipset "845 B-step" (označovaný také jako Brookdale-D či 845D) v masovém měřítku. Prodávat se bude za stejnou cenu jako dnešní 845, která má podporu pouze SDR pamětí. Výrobci mainboardů prohlašují, že mají hotovy návrhy základních desek s tímto chipsetem a mají od Intelu povolení je vystavovat na podzimním Comdexu v polovině listopadu.
