První čtyřprocesorový board pro Xeony
S tímto motherboardem přišla firma Tyan navzdory přetrvávajícím problémům se čtyřprocesorovými systémy s Xeony (Pentium 4/FosterMP) a i když se snad ani tohoto procesoru vůbec nedočkáme. Board jse jmenuje Thunder GC-HE - S4520 a je postaven na chipsetu Gran Champion HE od ServerWorksu. A ještě několik parametrů: rozměr SSI (16" ×13"), čtyři Socket603 Xeon (FosterMP) procesory, 400MHz systémová sběrnice, 7× 64bit/100MHz PCI-X slotů a jeden 32bit/33MHz, podpora Memory Expansion Cards s 12-ti nebo 16-ti sloty pro Registered DIMM PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM včetně podpory ECC, maximální velikost RAM 32GB, integrovaná ATI Rage XL (4MB local frame buffer), dva ATA/100 kanály, dual-channel Ultra160 SCSI (Adaptec AIC-7899W), dvoukanálová síťovka 10/100 (Intel 82550). Cena nebyla zatím určena, ale je velmi pravděpodobné, že bude stejně úctyhodná, jako její parametry :-) Více zatím nezjistíte ani na WEBu Tyanu (deska byla předvedena na Comdexu.
